Ingredients
| Quantity | Ingredient |
|---|---|
| 8 cups | lightly salted microwave-popped popcorn |
| 2 cups | cashews |
| 4 slices | bacon, cooked and crumbled |
| ¼ cup | unsalted butter |
| ¾ cup | packed brown sugar |
| ¼ cup | corn syrup |
| 2 tbsp | Better Than Bouillon® Roasted Garlic Base |
| ½ tsp | baking soda |
| ⅓ tsp | cayenne pepper |
Directions
Preheat oven to 300° F.
In a large greased bowl, toss together popcorn, cashews and bacon; set aside.
In a medium-sized pot, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, Roasted Garlic Base, baking soda and cayenne pepper. Cook on medium/high heat, stirring occasionally until sugars begin to caramelize and turn caramel color.
Add butter and beat into caramel with a wooden spoon to make it creamy.
Using a wooden spoon, carefully toss the popcorn mixture with caramel. Spread evenly onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
Place in oven and bake, stirring occasionally, for 15 to 20 minutes or until caramel is set. Let cool completely and break into clusters.
Tip: Substitute peanuts, pecans or almonds for cashews.
